przełamany jak kromka chleba
na znak pokoju
to nie radosna kolęda
śpiewana wieczorem w rodzinnym gronie
to dobroć i dłoń podana w potrzebie
samotnym
ubogim
zapomnianym
cierpiącym
która sprawia
że nagle słońce świeci w mroku
to ludzkie ciepło
z wiarą że dziś dla wszystkich
w Betlejem i w sercach
narodziła się maleńka ogromna miłość

Christmas Eve hope is not just a wafer
shared like a slice of bread
as a sign of peace
it's not a happy carol
sung in the evening in a family circle
it's goodness and a hand given in need to
lonely
poor
forgotten
suffering
which makes
that suddenly the sun shines in the darkness
it's human warmth
with faith that today for everyone
in Bethlehem and in hearts
tiny huge love was born
